Dave Tarter is proud to be a citizen of Falls Church. He and his wife, Karen, were first attracted to the Little City by the excellence of its schools and strong sense of community. Since moving here more than a decade ago, Dave has been actively involved in making it an even better place to live.
As a Northern Virginia native, Dave is familiar with the issues that affect the region. A commercial real estate and land use attorney in Arlington for more than 20 years, Dave has dedicated his legal career to facilitating smart, well managed growth for the betterment of communities. He has worked to reinvigorate Falls Church’s commercial corridors into a more vibrant, walkable downtown that provides the economic underpinnings for great schools and plentiful community services.
Dave also has strong ties with the school system. He and Karen have three children currently in the City’s public schools: David is in the ninth grade at George Mason High School, and Cole and Anna are in the seventh grade at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School. Karen takes care of the City’s youngest students as the Clinic Aide for Mt. Daniel School. David and Karen’s niece is also a junior at George Mason.
Dave received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia. He graduated from St. Stephen’s School in Alexandria.
