Sierra Club Endorses Dave Tarter for Falls Church City Council

The Sierra Club announced today that it is endorsing the candidacy of Falls Church Mayor and local commercial real estate lawyer P. David “Dave” Tarter for Falls Church City Council.

In endorsing Tarter, the Sierra Club praised his “solid understanding of the value of smart growth, bicycling/walking/transit options, and use of LEED in commercial developments.”

I am delighted that the Sierra Club recognizes my understanding and support for smart, well managed growth”, said Tarter. “A vibrant, walkable downtown is good for Falls Church and is good for the environment.”

“I have spent my career helping communities in Northern Virginia grow in the right way,” Tarter said. “That means showing respect for neighborhoods and our world by promoting improvements that are cleaner and greener.”

P. David “Dave” Tarter is the Mayor of the City of Falls Church, Vice-President of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, past Chair of the Falls Church Economic Development Authority, and former Interim Falls Church City Attorney.
